John Jones after William Redmore Bigg – Departure for School and Return from School

Two beautifully colored framed handcolored mezzotint engravings by John Jones (English, 1745-1797) after William Redmore Bigg (English, 1755-1828).   Although dated in the plate 1790, some sources indicate this was actually published sometime around 1820-1850.

Titles: “Black Monday or the Depature for School” and “Dulce Domum, or the Return from School.”
