Ulrich Rorschach

(1853-1903)

The Swiss artist Ulrich Rorschach from Arbon, Thurgau was the father of the psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach, who developed the famous Rorschach test.

Ulrich Rorschach studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich and from 1875 to 82 had an artist’s studio in Arbon (near St. Gallen). He also lived for a period in Stuttgart, Germany.
