Swiss Army Standard Bearer – Uniforms after the Ordonnanz of 1852

A handsome Swiss army standard bearer with a moustache and carrying the Swiss flag in a lithograph illustrating the new costumes of the Ordonnanz of 1852, a government act which created, for the first time standard uniforms for all of Switzerland. Up until that date the different Swiss cantons, or states, each had their own military uniforms.

Condition:  As shown:  The interior image is clear and in great condition, but with some age toning.  There are small tears and some paper loss in the outer margins easily covered with a mat.
