As a painter he best known for his scenes of the Spanish countryside and for seascapes and harbor scenes. He traveled widely, favoring European port cities, from Hamburg to Venice.
A retrospective of his work was held in El Palacio de Sástago de Zaragoza in 2005. He is considered a successor to the Spanish painters Jusepe Martínez and Vicente Berdusan.
