Signed Lithograph by Édouard Goerg – Il y a encore des Nymphes

The French expressionist painter, illustrator and print maker Édouard Joseph Goerg was born to French parents in Sydney, Australia, on June 9, 1893 and died in Callian (Var, France) on April 13, 1969.  His parents were champagne merchants, and Goerg initially worked in the family business before turning towards an artistic career.  He studied with Paul Serusier and Maurice Denis at the Ranson Academy in Paris.
