Bouquet of of Flowers
Early 20th Century Pastel framed under glass.
A big, bright and exhuberant bouquet signed Vincent Vincent.
We have not been able to find more information about this artist, but a previous owner has written on the back that he was a set designer who worked in the “first third of the 20th Century” in Lausanne.
The charming note on the back (photo below) provides the best provenance we have ever read: “Vincent-Vincent was a theater painer in the first third of this century. Pastel Drawing. Mom bought this picture along with a writing table and a dark brown walnut chest, a chair, some spotty velour cushions, and a bell formed table lamp with her savings in 1948 from a Theater Director’s widow in La Sarraz. This is our first “piece de resistance.” We still have the chair.
Dimensions: 59 X 48 cm (size without frame)
Note: Frame included with local purchase only. If the painting must be shipped, it will be sent without the frame
