Coenraad Jacob Temminck

Coenraad Jacob Temminck was a Dutch aristocrat and zoologist. The work Nouveau Recueil de Planches coloriées d’Oiseaux (A New Collection of Colored Plates of Birds) was published during Temmnick’s tenure as the first director of the National Natural History Museum in Leiden. It was illustrated with beautiful copperplate engravings by Jean Gabriel Prêtre and Nicholas Huet.
