Émile Chaumont

1877-1927

Emile Chaumont was born in 1877 in Perigueux in the Dordogne. He was gravely wounded while serving in the French infantry in WWI, and received the Croix de guerre 1914-1918. He took up painting again after the war, working in Dordogne and later in Bordeaux. He was also known under the pseudonym “Film.”
