Pair of exquisite gouache miniatures on ivory circa 1820.

The gentleman in a brown Biedermeier vest with a red scarf and white ruffled collar is annoted “Torque”on the right edge.

The beautiful woman with ringlet curls and an ermine colared empire style gown is annoted “Rouget on the right edge.

Each oval portrait measures appoximately 6.5 X 8.5 cm

Condition: Excellent, but several small pieces are missing from each of the frames.
