This delightful original etching by Swiss artist August Weber captures a farmer setting out for market, leading his cow and wagon along a gently rising country road. The cow’s face fills the foreground with remarkable tenderness: large, expressive eyes, long eyelashes softy framing its eyes, and a charming curly forelock that gives her an almost endearing, human quality. August Weber was a Swiss painter and graphic artist active in the first half of the 20th century.
