View of Lake Geneva and the City of Geneva from a Hillside in Vaud

Early 19th Century hand-colored lithograph

A group of strollers pauses on a hilltop to admire the view of Mont Blanc, Lac Leman and the City of Geneva. An old paddlewheeler and a traditional sailboat pass by on the lake.

This piece is so exquisitely colored by hand as to be equal to a painting. The artist has used a combination of watercolor and opaque gouache for certain details, like the white of Mont Blanc and the sails on the sail boat.

Antique frame with old glass

Dimensions: 14.5 X 12.5 in the frame
Size of image - 7 X 5 inches

Condition: Some light discoloration of the paper, and a crease in the upper right hand corner.
