Markus Dinkel ((Eicken 1762 – 1832. Bern) was a portraitist specialized in Swiss costumes. He is one of the so called Schweitzer Kleinmeister (the Swiss Little Masters), 18th and 19th Century artists who specialized in depictions of Swiss landscapes and traditional country lifestyles for Europe’s emerging bourgeoisie.
