Markus Dinkel ((Eicken 1762 – 1832. Bern) was a portraitist specialized in Swiss costumes. He is one of the so called Schweitzer Kleinmeister (the Swiss Little Masters), 18th and 19th Century artists who specialized in depictions of Swiss landscapes and traditional country lifestyles for Europe’s emerging bourgeoisie.

Original watercolor by Bruno Hesse entitled Spychweid. Bruno Hesse grew up painting at the side of his father, the Nobel Prize winning author Hermann Hesse (Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, The Glass Bead Game). He studied with Cuno Amiet, one of the leading Swiss artists of the early 20th Century.
