This beautiful drawing was done by Swiss artist Henri Steiner in 1822. Steiner has noted at the bottom of the page that he worked after a Madonna and Child by the northern Italian artist Bernardino Luini who was part of a circle around Leonardo da Vinci, and was famous for his exquisite Madonnas.

Austrian Artist Robet Scheffer (1859-1934) was the founder of an art school in Vienna. He was the father of Gret Kalous Scheffer, the fashion designer. He is listed in the major art dictionaries including the Benezit.
