Swiss artist Vinzenz Daxelhofer, known as Dax, was born in Bern in 1938. He studied architecture at the ETH in Zürich, and painting with the Swiss artist Max von Mühlenen in Bern. Early in his career (1965-1971), he worked primarily as an architect, while painting in his free time. Since 1972 he has dedicated himself primarily to painting, and today maintains a studio in Bern.
